I Admire Time
by Peter S. Quinn - May 15, 1999
I admire time, for it controls our thought,
And gives moments we pleasure for a while;
It is the law that keeps what we were taught,
Differently gives our sorrow and smile.
It is from our birth, to end of our day:
Master that rates every footstep we live;
It shares memories of thoughts we did say,
Into its clockwork we unaware give.
Time is all, every measure, in work done,
We can't stop nor return to its beginning;
Though we have desire to find what is gone,
Time is ticking and eternally singing.
       Though we lose against time, we mature till
       Our fate in each life, keeps breath clear and still.
